Administrating iOfficeV4 -> Setup
iOfficeV4 offers your coworkers many convenient functions which are using e-mail, rather than WebMail. iOfficeV4 users can receive reminders, notifications, messages, etc. in order to get up-to-date information.
To use these functions an administrator has to set up the e-mail server properties.
Click General Options on the lower right of the WebMail screen.
Click Mail Server Settings in the menu.
You will now see the setting screen.
Incoming Server (POP3): Specify a POP3 server name and port No.
The server you specified is used for WebMail only.
Note:
POP3 is a protocol to receive e-mail messages and WebMail supports only POP3.
User ID/Password:
Be sure to enter them if your E-mail server requires POP before SMTP. This account information is used for authentication when the Reminder and Notification functions send E-mail messages. Consult your E-mail server administrator or ISP If you are not sure that your E-mail server requires POP before SMTP.
Note:
We strongly recommend that you use the account for this purpose only. Do not use the account for sending and receiving e-mail messages by any mailer Software.
Authentication:
If the incoming server (POP3) is not set to use specific authentication, select Standard. If you select APOP, you will log on the incoming server with the security protection.
Outgoing Server (SMTP): Specify a SMTP server name and port No.
The server you specified is used for sending reminders, notifications, etc. from the applications which provide e-mail messaging.
You can select either to add Message-Id to E-mail header or not. The message-Id is a unique Id to identify messages you sent.
In Default Character Code, choose the character code which is used to encode E-mail messages.
Notification via E-mail: Choose "Use", if you want to use the messaging function in the applications. The following table shows which application provides the messaging function.
