Installation Guide - Windows Version This page describes the installation of Windows edition iOffice2000.
This explanation assumes that the server OS is Microsoft WindowsNT server
4.0 and that the web server is using Internet Information Server 4.0.
1) Set up "Microsoft WindowsNT Server 4.0 + Internet Information Server 4.0" as operating environment at the server end. * Microsoft WindowsNT Server4.0 2) If a WWW browser (Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer etc.) is present, irrespective of OS (Windows, Mac, UNIX etc.), as the operating environment at the client end, nothing else needs to be installed. * It is assumed that an LAN is constructed. (If you are using UNIX as the web server, please refer to the UNIX edition installation guide.) To use iOffice2000, a web server is necessary. If a web server is already installed, please go to "installation of iOffice2000". * Microsoft Personal Web Server4.0 is included as part of the components of Option Pack.
A mail server is necessary in order to use iOffice2000 WebMail.
iOffice2000 may now be installed. On installation, the following items need to be set: Company name: Company name (or department name) * Regarding the "home directory" and "installation target directory"
... 1) Create iOffice2000 in the directory where it is desired to be installed. For example, assume that the directory into which it is desired to effect installation is "C:/InetPub/groups". 2) Set the accessibility "execution" in the directory that has been created. Setting is effected by "Internet Service Manager". [Internet Service Manager] (1) From the "properties" screen of the WWW service, click the "add" button, to display the "properties" screen of the directory. (2) Select the directory "C:/InetPub/groups" that has been created, check the "execution" checkbox of "access", and click "OK". The above completes the directory setting. 3) When the directory setting has been completed, iOffice2000 may be installed by selecting the "C:/InetPub/groups" that has been created in the installation target directory.
When all steps have been completed, iOffice2000 may be accessed. Start up the browser and input as follows: http://(IP address of server or server name)/scripts/ioffice/iofficexx.exe? *) xx : depends on Language *If the browser is set to "disable cookies", iOffice2000 will not operate normally. Please check that either "accept all" or "display warning (dialogue) before accepting) is set. Please refer to what is stated under "Support" in the operating manual. If there are any further "problems regarding installation", please contact your local reseller or via E-mail to support@neoint.com Uninstalling iOffice2000 is effected by "Control Panel - Add or delete applications". Select the displayed "iOffice2000" and click the "add or delete" button to uninstall. Also, since when uninstallation is effected from "control panel - add or delete applications", data is left behind in the installation directory, it is essential to delete the installation directory, using Explorer. |
